Teale leaves Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent

SHEFFIELD Wednesday winger Gary Teale is joining Scottish Premier League club St Mirren, The Star understands.

His Hillsborough contract had another year to run after his arrival from Derby last summer.

But today he followed Tommy Spurr, Darren Potter and Paul Heffernan out of the exit door as the Owls attempt to rebuild.

Wednesday issued a statement saying that Teale had left by mutual consent but they made no comment about his destination. The club thanked him for his services and wished him well.

In moving to Scotland he will be going home: he was born in Glasgow and has played for Clydebank and Ayr.

The winger will be 33 this month. He made 47 starts and five appearances as a sub for the Owls and scored five goals.
