and live on Freeview channel 276
A bumper crowd of over 40,000 people is expected to turn out in the North East to watch the two League One giants go head-to-head, and the two sides will be eager to try and draw first blood ahead of the second leg at Hillsborough on Monday.
Wycombe Wanderers picked up a 2-0 lead at home on Thursday night as they got off to a great start against MK Dons, and Darren Moore will be hoping that home advantage doesn’t count for as much when the Owls take on the Black Cats this evening.

DM on the goal timing
One minute your half time speech is a certain way, and the next it all changes. It would have been different if we’d gone in at 0-0. I had 15 minutes to settle them down.
DM on the performance
We knew it was going to be a tough game, and it’s a difficult place... There were some disappointing aspects where we didn’t move the ball as well as we can.
But credit to them.
We were dogged, stayed in the game. But we were disappointed with the goal, it was avoidable. I felt like the energy changed towards the end of the second half, and we threatened for.
It lived up to expectations, and I said at half time that they needed to not concede.
Not to be
Wednesday finished the game quite strongly, but it just wasn’t to be for them in the end... Sunderland held firm, and probably should’ve have more goals before the game calmed.
‘All Wednesday Aren’t We’ is chanted from the rafters by the Wednesdayites who turned up.
So, so lucky
Peacock-Farrell tries to head out, there’s a miscommunication and it ends up falling to Stewart, who drives his shot wide... A massive Wednesday let off.
Finishing quite strongly
Wednesday finishing quite strongly here as they try and get a late leveller. Sunderland are under a bit of pressure, but for now are holding firm. It’s been better from the Owls.
Better from Wednesday
A good ball into the box from Johnson almost found a Palmer running it, but after the keeper fumbled it it was well dealt with by the Sunderland defence.
