STOCKSBRIDGE Park Steels will play Sheffield Wednesday at Bracken Moor tonight in the annual friendly between the clubs.
It kicks off at 7.45pm and admission costs only £5 for adults and OAPs, £3 for senior-school youngsters and nothing for junior-school pupils.
Steels chairman Allen Bethel said: “We always look forward to Wednesday coming. Hopefully it will be a nice evening and spectators can relax and enjoy the football.”
Wednesday’s other commitments - they played first-team games at Worksop last Saturday and against Rotherham last night - plus their shortage of players mean that their side tonight is unlikely to be full of senior players.
But this has proved to be a popular fixture over the years, and for Stocksbridge it is part of a busy period before they open their Evo-Stik League programme away to Marine on August 13.
Steels, a community club with 16 squads of various age-groups, have a friendly programme that includes visits from Rotherham United next Tuesday and Sheffield United the following Tuesday; both kick off at 7.45pm.
The Owls’ next friendly is at home to Leeds on Saturday, kick-off 1pm.
