Steve Bruce reportedly set for the boot at Newcastle United - Sheffield Wednesday fans less than sympathetic

Bruce walked away from the Owls prior to the start of the 2019/20 Championship season amid anger from the Wednesday faithful after the club were seen to have bent over backwards to accommodate him ahead of his appointment in 2019.
Now, less than a year later, it appears that the Northumberland-born manager may be left without a club come the end of the season as Newcastle’s prospective new owners, a Saudi-backed consortium, look to bring Mauricio Pochettino – or former boss, Rafa Benitez – back to the club for the 2020/21 season, whenever that might take place.

Hide AdSky Sports have reported that Bruce would see out this season – whevever that might be – and would then be replaced, with former Southampton and Tottenham manager Pochettino lined-up to take over as the first choice of the prospective new owners.
Bruce has led Newcastle to 13th place in the English Premier League after 29 games, and while he may get sympathy from elsewhere should he be relieved of his position, he’s unlikely to get any from any of the fans of his former club .
The arrival of the 59-year-old at Hillsborough in 2019 brought with it a wave of optimism throughout the fanbase given the upturn in fortunes following his eventual start.
Many felt severely let down when he decided to jump ship a few months later, taking with his the majority of his backroom staff – even though it was to join his boyhood club.

To say there are not many Wednesdayites feeling sorry for him would be something of an understatement,
@steelowl posted on twitter: “Someone posed the question the other day about whether we'd have Bruce back if he became available. My answer would be "yes"...but the terms of his contract would make him say "no."”
@x_Natalie123 is a big believer in karma, and she posted: “I’m afraid after his actions with us the words ‘poor’ and ‘Steve Bruce’ do not belong in the same sentence. What do belong in the same sentence however are ‘Steve Bruce’ and ‘Karma’”

And @HulleyJason had not time for the former manager either: “So Wednesday support him through a tough family time.. letting him start his contract late because he’s sunning himself in the carribean.. and then he walks out on us days before the season starts?? “Poor Steve Bruce?” Do me a favour..”
