The goalkeeper, a graduate of the club's youth system, has played nine times in the league and yet to taste defeat. He has helped Wednesday record six victories and three draws.

Dawson has recorded three clean sheets in eight starts, including Saturday's superb victory at Nottingham Forest. His City Ground run-out was his 50th outing in Owls colours.

"I was very proud to play for the club once but to have played 50 times I feel very privileged," conceded Dawson, who made his Wednesday debut in October 2016.

Dawson's present contract runs out next summer, but boss Garry Monk is keen to tie him down to a new deal.

“He is a big part of my plans and it’s important we keep him at the club, ” said Monk.
