'So we haven’t got an out and out striker in the starting 11' . . . 'Absolute joke of a lineup' - Sheffield Wednesday fans' verdict on team to play Bournemouth

Garry Monk, the under-fire Sheffield Wednesday manager, has made two changes to the side which lost to Wycombe Wanderers for this evening’s clash with unbeaten AFC Bournemouth at Hillsborough.

The Owls boss has brought in Moses Odubajo and Elias Kachunga, with strikers Jack Marriott and Callum Paterson – both recruited in the summer transfer window – dropping out for the awkward-looking fixture with Jason Tindall’s Cherries side.

Joe Wildsmith, who replaced Cameron Dawson for the defeat at Wycombe at the weekend, keeps his place in goal but Tom Lees doesn’t make the matchday squad despite serving a one-match ban for his sending-off at Rotherham United.

Here’s how Wednesday fans on Twitter have reacted to tonight’s team news.

@AreMatthews Pelupessy wouldn’t get in most Conference sides, yet he starts for us every week, offers **** all. Another loss pending. #Swfc

@ChrisWilde21 Only plus today is we're not on the red button to watch a cricket score #SWFC

@Jamesy_boy Only #swfc could start a home game with no recognised forwards in the starting 11 but have three on the bench. Absolute joke of a lineup.

@KIE10 Why does he insist on playing Pelupessy every week! It’s clear he’s not good enough to everybody! #swfc

@Majortarantino I remember watching us and a player would get the ball and you'd be excited, wondering what they'd do. Now when a player gets the ball, you're terrified, wondering what they'd do. #swfc

@markham86 I’ve got a very bad feeling we are going to get absolutely battered tonight looking at both teams. I really hope I’m wrong come 9pm. #swfc

@Wotdidscoobydoo Absolute classic. Club’s main three strikers all on bench. It's the formation and lack of service to the forwards that's the problem, not the forwards’ fault

@swfcottam So we haven’t got an out and out striker in the starting 11. Does Monk want us to lose?

@ TPWild1979 He’s just picking names out of a hat at this point.
