Sky Sports pundit has huge praise for Henrik Pedersen and his Sheffield Wednesday players

Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has been speaking about the trials and tribulations that Sheffield Wednesday have had to go through this season

Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has lavished praise on the Sheffield Wednesday players and manager Henrik Pedersen for the way they have handled a difficult 2025/26 season so far.

Wednesday, of course, will be relegated to League One at the end of the Championship campaign, with points deductions all but sealing their fate early in the season.

But Goodman believes some of the performances, including the 0-0 draw with Coventry, showed a side that has not downed tools and is still playing for the shirt despite the challenging circumstances.

Pundit praises Wednesday players and staff

Goodman was speaking to TheStar.co.uk, via a site that shows you how to choose fast withdrawal casinos, and said: "I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is to play knowing that you're already relegated, that you are by far and away the worst team in the league, even without the points deduction.

"It must be unbelievably difficult and yet, to their credit, I think they've fought and scrapped in literally every game. They've worn that shirt with pride. The reason they're getting relegated massively, obviously, the points deduction, but even if they hadn't had a points deduction with the squad at their disposal, with the situation that they're in, they were always going to get relegated.

"So I actually think that the players and Henrik Pedersen deserve a lot of credit for the way they've fought and scrapped. They haven't had too many real beatings. If you look through their scores, I can see one four and only a few threes. Obviously, Coventry put five past them earlier on in the season, so there are a few threes in there. But they've tried to compete in every game, and I think that deserves credit."
