“Six centre halves, no left back” – Tony Pulis has voiced his Sheffield Wednesday concerns to Dejphon Chansiri

Pulis has already been vocal about the fact that he is itching to bring new players into the club in January in order to bolster the side’s chances of avoiding relegation out of the Championship, with a striker thought to be high up on his list of priorities.
Wednesday have lost three games in a row and are now seven without a win since Pulis’ arrival, and he says it’s a very tough situation that the club find themselves in at this point in time – saying they need more balance among the squad.

Speaking after the 2-1 defeat against Barnsley – the Tykes’ first win over the Owls since 2009 – Pulis said, "I've been a manager a long time and I don't think I've stepped into a situation like this before… Out of all the clubs I've managed, it's probably as disjointed a group as I've managed.
"If you look at it, there’s six centre-halves, and I don’t think we’ve got a left back. We've got five tens, and really not a centre-forward.
"It swirls around, whatever you're trying to do. You want to try and find that balance - the balance of the team is so, so important. And an identity within that balance is so important.”
The Wednesday boss also told the media, “I’ve spoken to the chairman… The depth of the squad and the identity of the team are two things that really concern me.”

And there’s certainly cause for concern among the group after Pulis matched Chris Turner’s record for the longest winless run of a new manager at Hillsborough, although he has picked up one more point than the former Owls boss from his opening seven games (3/2).
Next up for the Owls is a trip to Nottingham Forest and the City Ground, and the Wednesday manager will be desperate for a turnaround in fortunes as he looks to keep hold of his impressive record of having never been relegated at any point in his football career.
