There aren’t too many positives for Moore to take at present, however one thing he will be pleased with is the fact that he now has a full week to work with his new players without the interruption of a midweek fixture.

That fact is good news on two fronts – firstly because of it’ll give him time to work on combinations in training, but it’s also more time for several players to potentially get themselves back in contention.

At present Wednesday have Keiren Westwood (ribs), Cameron Dawson (knee), Dominic Iorfa (Achilles), Joost van Aken (ankle), Moses Odubajo (hamstring), Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (ankle), Massimo Luongo (knee) and Andre Green (Achilles) all out of action, with no specific dates given for their return.

When asked about the plethora of injuries and availability for the Norwich City game, Moore told the media, “We’ll have a look, I’ll have a chat with the medical team at the start of the week and we’ll see the condition of the players and see where they’re at…

“We’ll assess the group, we’ve lost another member and it was a tough afternoon’s work, so it’s about looking where the group’s at come Monday.”

Alongside the injuries, Wednesday also now have Julian Börner suspended following his red card over the weekend, but it will only become clearer later in the week whether he’ll have any players back in contention following their various ailments.
