The Owls’ top scorer from last season was forced off midway through the first half of Wednesday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup tie at Hillsborough, with Sky Sports saying at the time that it’s thought that he has picked up a hamstring injury, while Famewo was forced off in the opening 45 during their 1-0 win over MK Dons.

With Windass, the good news is that his injury isn’t expected to keep him out of action, though it appears that it will be a long time before his defensive teammate is seen back in blue and white.

When asked about the striker straight after the tie, the Owls boss said, “For him, we took him off just as a precaution because he felt a bit tight… We didn’t want to take any risks with him. We’ll assess him tomorrow, and hopefully it’s just a bit of tightness…

“We didn’t want to waste any time, we just wanted to get him off. We’ll check on him tomorrow, just make sure he’s ok, and I don’t envisage it being any more than just tightness.”

Meanwhile, on new signing, Famewo, Moore explained, “He’s going to be out for some considerable time, which we’re all gutted for him about… We wanted the fans to see him and what he’s about, but we do think he’s going to be out for some time.

“The exact length of time has not been distinguished yet, but it’s going to be some time.”

Wednesday’s next game sees them face Charlton Athletic.
