Owls youngster Dan Wallis has expressed his delight over signing a one-year contract extension with the Championship club.
Wallis, a key member of the Wednesday Under-23s side who finished third Professional Development League Two North standings, joined the Owls as a scholar in 2015.
“I’m really happy to sign my deal, this year has been good for me,” said Wallis. “I’ve obviously got more experience with the 23s.
“Sadly we just missed out on winning the league but it’s been a great experience for me and I’m really happy to be staying at the club.”
Wallis hopes to follow in the footsteps of academy graduates Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson and challenge for a first-team spot in the future.
He admitted: “Cam and Joe have done really well this season. That’s something that really helps me push on and hopefully next season I can show that I can be involved.
“I really want to push Joe, Cam and Keiren [Westwood] for a place in the first team if I can.”
