Leon Best can expect a warm welcome at Huish Park today.

Wednesday’s on-loan striker is fondly remembered by Yeovil fans for a part of his career that has gone relatively unrecognised elsewhere.

He scored 10 goals in 15 games for the Glovers and helped to turn them from a mid-table side into promotion contenders.

Best spent three months with them in the 2006-07 season and after he left they sealed their place in the League One play-offs.

Yeovil lost 2-0 to Blackpool in the final - but Best by then was back in the Southampton side.

He played in the Championship semi-finals against Derby, who went through on penalties.

Best scored 17 goals that season - including four for Saints and three in an early loan spell at Bournemouth.

Now 27, he scored his first pro goal in his loan spell with the Owls in August, 2005.

The Blackburn forward will be looking for the second goal of his current loan spell when he returns to Yeovil today.

His shot forced the match-winning penalty against Middlesbrough last Saturday. But there is competition for the striker places, with Caolan Lavery, Benik Afobe, Caolan Lavery and Chris Maguire in contention.

Yeovil are set to bring back on-loan Forest striker Ishmael Miller. He went off with a hamstring injury in a 1-0 win against Doncaster last month.
