Sheffield Wednesday winger Jack Stobbs pays tribute to Livingston as injury-ravaged loan spell comes to an end

The winger could barely have started more brightly by scoring the division’s goal of the month on debut against Ross County, but made only three further appearances – one of those for only nine minutes – as a knee injury curtailed his progress north of the border.
Stobbs, a fast and direct wide player, re-joined Wednesday’s under-23 ranks last week, coming off the bench in defeat against Crewe.

Hide AdOn leaving the Scottish club, the 22-year-old posted on Twitter: “A great club going in the right direction, from the fans to the staff and lads I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and wish them nothing but the best for the future, thank you for having me.”
A message posted on the Livingston FC club website said: “Following the expiry of his loan deal, midfielder Jack Stobbs has returned to parent club Sheffield Wednesday.
“Injuries meant Jack was restricted to limited game time but we thank him for his efforts during his spell here and wish him all the very best for the future.”
The move came about through the friendship between Livingston boss Gary Holt and Owls assistant Lee Bullen, who was the club’s caretaker manager at the time.

It was the second loan spell of his career, having impressed at League Two Port Vale during the 2017/18 season.
