Sheffield Wednesday winger issues passionate rallying cry as the Owls look to get wins on the board again

Garry Monk's side lost three on the trot over the festive period to slip out of the play-off positions.

But despite a downturn in their results, Wednesday remain only four points adrift of third-placed Brentford.

Winger Harris, an ever-present in the Championship this season, has called for calm.

"It is very important everyone sticks together," he told The Star. "It is the only way you get promoted.

"Consistency will come with that togetherness.

"We are all confident that things will change for us in the games to come."

Their latest setback came at home to Yorkshire neighbours Hull City on New Year's Day. Highly-rated Tigers forward Jarrod Bowen bagged the only goal to give Monk plenty of food for thought after successive Hillsborough defeats.

Harris said: "Everyone was disappointed from the players, the manager and the fans.

"We wanted to bounce back from the Cardiff game and get three points but we didn't do that so we are disappointed.

"These things happen.

"We have all been in this situation before in our careers and we have all bounced back.

"We know we have got the personnel in the changing room to bounce back."

Wednesday will have an opportunity to end their losing run when they travel to Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
