Without a win in nine and defeat in the six-pointer at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, Tony Pulis’ side enter the busy Christmas fortnight seven points from safety at the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship.

Next up, is Coventry City at Hillsborough on Saturday.

The Sky Blues head north fresh from a goalless draw with Huddersfield Town last night and sit in 18th place with 22 points to their name.

So which players make Mark Robins’ men tick and what system do they play?

We’ve asked Andy Turner, from Coventry Live, to give us the inside track on the Sky Blues.

What have you made of Coventry’s start to the season?

It's been a campaign of two halves so far, the first 11 games in the run up to the last international break a bit of a baptism of fire as Coventry played six of the top seven sides and became the leakiest defence in the division by conceding 23 goals.

Since they returned from the international break, however, they have tightened up, conceding just four times in an impressive seven game unbeaten run that has seen them take 13 points from three wins and four draws prior to Wednesday's match with Huddersfield.

Despite some disappointing results, there were positive signs during their opening run of fixtures and the Sky Blues seem to have settled into the level nicely now.

Who have been the stand-out performers for the Sky Blues?

Deep lying midfield play-maker Gustavo Hamer and skipper Liam Kelly so far.

What would be a 'successful' season for Coventry - where do you expect them to finish?

Anywhere above the relegation zone would be a success given the step up and the fact that City have the joint lowest budget in the division, along with Wycombe. But real success would be a mid-table finish in their first season back in the second tier, and if they continue to play the way they have in recent weeks then that should be achievable.

What style of football (or system) should Wednesday expect to come up against?

Mark Robins likes his teams to play out from the back, making use of the wing-backs getting forward and getting good balls into the box. Although he has played with four at the back on occasions, he generally favours three with wing-backs.

Who are the main threats?

As mentioned earlier, Hamer. He's a class apart. Attacking midfielder Callum O'Hare is also a livewire threat who just never stops running and making a nuisance of himself in the final third.

What will the score be?

The Sky Blues have struggled to win games on the road this season, Saturday's 2-1 win at Wycombe coming as their first three Championship points away from St Andrew's, so I'll go with a 1-1 draw.
