Sheffield Wednesday are in Carabao Cup action tonight against Sunderland and will be hoping to get one over on the side that killed hopes of an instant return to the Championship last season.

Darren Moore is expected to shuffle his pack and name a much-changed side for this one, offering an opportunity to those who are yet to play a central part in the season so far.

Stay tuned to this blog for updates throughout the evening.

LIVE updates: Owls v Sunderland

Another belting goal..

..and it’s all about Dennis Adeniran. Classy stuff to break the ball back, then to cross to Sow at the back post.

Not a shoddy finish, either. Lovely goal.

We’re back underway..

And Michael Ihiekwe has replaced Ben Heneghan. Injury, tactical or otherwise?

Wouldn’t be surprised if Heneghan for Ihiekwe sub is a case of giving them 45 minutes each and not overloading either of them ahead of Saturday. We’ll find out in a bit, I guess.

Dawson - 6

Iorfa - 6

Heneghan - 7

James - 7

Palmer - 8

Adeniran - 8

Byers - 7

Bakinson - 8

Brown - 6

Paterson - 6

Gregory - 6 (Sow - N/A)

Lovely play, Wednesday..

Started with Gregory, they move the ball through several players to build an attack. Fluent stuff and easy on the eye.

Wednesday are looking good here..

..but it has to be said, Sunderland are not.

Passing poor, Wednesday given too much space and time.

Palmer has had plenty of joy on the right.

Heneghan finds himself at the back post, but he nods it wide. That was a better chance than perhaps he realised.
