The Owls put in a good performance down at Home Park, however were sucker-punched in extra time as Sam Cosgrove gave the Pilgrims an important win that kept them top of the League One table.
If they’re to make sure that they don’t lose any ground on the top two, Darren Moore’s side need maximum points at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon, but will need to see off a side that have won four of their last five matches and beat Bolton Wanderers earlier this week. So it’s no easy task.

Too close for comfort
Wednesday on shaky ground again there as Johnson does excellently to win back the ball, but then his pass back to Stockdale is short and opens up a real chance. Norton’s shot is saved by Stockdale, but that was very risky.
Lovely ball in
Johnson floats in a great ball into the box. It’s just above Gregory as he can’t get enough on it, but his touch takes it away from Smith who was coming in behind him. Shame, that.
Wednesday again come close, with a lovely bit of play resulting in Gregory crashing a shot off the post. It was a great effort, and he can’t believe it’s not nestled in the back of the net.
Big hand Stocko
Wednesday are still the aggressors here, but every now and again they give Cheltenham a bit of space. Sercombe’s has a crack inside the box, but there’s a really strong hand from Stockdale to get it clear.

Windass with another fine effort from range... The keeper’s beaten, but it whistles past the post as well. Once again caught it nicely - he’s in the mood today.
Penalty? Nope.
Palmer beat his man three or four times as he worked his way into the box, then has his ankle clipped by the defender. Ref’s not having it, but that looked like a penalty from up here.
Chance at the other end
It’s been all Wednesday, but Cheltenham got a bit of an opening there, and it was only thanks to a strong block that Stockdale wasn’t given more work to do. The Owls do need to guard against attacks like that.
