Sheffield Wednesday’s form may be good at the moment, but there are still a number of issues to be resolved behind the scenes – not least on the recruitment front.

Wednesday booked their place in the fourth-round of the FA Cup last weekend, as they made it three wins on the trot with a comfortable 2-0 win away to Exeter.

It was another win for caretaker manager Neil Thompson, who has produced the goods since Tony Pulis’ sacking, with the same set of players.

That’s not to say the Owls don’t need strengthening. The January transfer window is open and there still needs to be some reinforcements at Hillsborough, though it could depend on the manager situation being resolved first.
