Sheffield Wednesday transfer rumours: Moore to make major transfer decision, Player facing uncertain future

Sheffield Wednesdsay manager Darren Moore has revealed that he and his staff will make a decision on whether or not to offer Ravel Morrison a permanent contract at Hillsborough in the coming days.

The midfielder has been on trial with the Owls in recent weeks as he continues to look for a new club following his departure from Dutch side ADO Den Haag in January.

The Eredivisie side were the 11th of the 28-year-old’s nomadic career to date.

But whether or not Wednesday will become his 12th should be confirmed in the near future.

Speaking in the aftermath of Saturday’s 2-1 win over Barnsley, Moore said: “What we’ll do is take a good look at Ravel and make a decision in the next two, three, four days so we know what we’re doing with Ravel going forward.”

Morrison previously played for Wednesday’s city rivals Sheffield United, making four appearances before leaving for Den Haag.

The two-cap Jamaica international made headlines earlier this year when he admitted during an interview on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with Five podcast that he had major regrets about how his career had turned out following his early departure from boyhood club Manchester United.

He said: "If I could go back in time I would change 90% of my life.

"But you have to look forward, you can't think about the past too much."

Elsewhere, Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes has admitted that his future at the club is not necessarily for him to decide.

The Scotland international was the man of the hour as he struck a brace against Barnsley over the weekend, taking his tally for the season to six goals.

But the 31-year-old’s contract is up at the end of the season, and as yet, there are no indications as to whether or not he will be offered a new one.

He said: "I feel like I'm playing with a smile on my face, and I'm really enjoying it.

"It's nice to be out there and it's nice to be wanted again.

"I'm doing my best.

"That [whether he is offered a new deal at Hillborough] is for the powers-that-be.

"It's out of my control."
