Sheffield Wednesday transfer news: Owls could sign lethal striker on bargain deal, Millwall join transfer battle

Sheffield Wednesday are continuing to put the final touches to their summer recruitment plan, as they look to rebuild their squad from the bottom up when the transfer window opens next month.

The Owls face an almighty challenge to bounce back up from League One next season, but will take encouragement from the performance of Hull City this season, who did just that despite a disastrous 2019/20 campaign where they also finished rock bottom of the Championship table.

Discussing footballer Conor Grant, who Wednesday to join Rochdale earlier in the season, ex-Owl and current Rochdale boss Brian Barry-Murphy claimed: “I knew how good he was and thought he was going to be a top players when he came over here.

“He didn’t feature loads for Sheffield Wednesday but you feel as if you’ve got an advantage then because you’ve seen him when he came over and you can use that to the club’s advantage.

“He established himself as one of the most creative players in League One and hopefully will be in League Two next year. I’m convinced Conor Grant will be a senior future international for Ireland.

“If you give those players a real platform to impress in League One, it can be a real opportunity for them to impress and progress up the ladder.”Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Sheffield Wednesday and the rest of the Championship, as the reaction to last season and the build-up to summer transfer window continues:
