Sheffield Wednesday transfer headlines: Ex-Owls target completes Championship move as West Ham eye defender

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of former Sheffield Wednesday target Scott McKenna for an undisclosed fee.

The Owls, alongside Forest, reportedly bid for the defender last summer but Aberdeen held onto the player.

The Scottish club have confirmed McKenna has departed for a club-record sum, thought to be £3million plus £2m in add-ons.

Meanwhile, former Owls youngster Fraser Preston has joined National League North side Boston United.

Preston was close to joining a team in the Eredivisie according to Pilgrims boss Craig Elliott but decided to stay in the UK.

Boston are vying for promotion from non-league’s second-tier this season after losing the play-off final to Altrincham in August.

Norwich City have been handed a huge boost after Barcelona decided to withdraw their interest in right-back Max Aarons.

It has been revealed by 90min that the La Liga giants have opted to agree an £18.4m deal for Ajax’s Sergino Dest over the 20-year-old.

That said, Aaron remains keen on a move away from Carrow Road with Manchester City a big fan of the player.

West Ham keen in Rodon

West Ham have taken a look at signing Swansea City defender Joe Rodon, though he wouldn’t be sold on the cheap.

The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg says the Hammers are targeting Arsenal’s Calum Chambers but Rodon is a player who has been considered.

It’s not the first time Rodon has been linked with a move to the Premier League this year having been touted with a shock switch to Manchester United.

Watford pair hand in transfer request

Watford pair Etienne Capoue and Roberto Pereyra are nearing the exit door after handing in transfer requests.

The midfielder duo are not training with Vladimir Ivic's first-team squad and have made it clear they no longer wish to play for the club.
