Sheffield Wednesday are off to a strong start to the season as they currently occupy a play-off place in sixth place in the Championship table.
The international break provides good opportunity to reflect on the start of the season so far, so we asked Owls fans who they would choose as their best player – and there was a clear winner.
Wednesday’s star man Barry Bannan took an impressive 50 per cent of the vote, proving that his performances so far this term have made him popular with fans.
The Scottish midfield wizard has got two goals and one assist in 11 league appearances in 2018/19.
Unsurprisingly, the next most popular player was Adam Reach with 32 per cent of voters ranking him as their favourite player.
After his sublime goals against Leeds United and West Brom, Reach appears to be having a goal of the season competition of his own.
Academy graduate Matt Penney, who broke into the first team this season, was third favourite among fans with 13 per cent of the poll followed by Fernando Forestieri who took home just 1 per cent of votes.
Will Barry Bannan be able to keep his and Wednesday’s good form going until the end of the season?
