He may be surprised by Brighton’s form this season but Stuart Gray wants the Owls to twist the knife on the Championship underachievers at Hillsborough today.
After a sixth-placed finish last season, Brighton have struggled this term, winning just six of their 30 league games so far and seeing themselves currently out of the bottom three on goal difference alone.
Gray is ready to compound the woes of Chris Hughton’s side this afternoon but has warned his own players that it will not be easy.
He said: “It’s been a funny season. With the players and budget they’ve got, you end up scratching your head and thinking there must be something not right there and hopefully we can cash in on that on Saturday.
“Chris has got them well organised. It doesn’t matter where you are in the league, you’ve got have at least nine or ten of your players turn up.
“Chris will have his team up for it but the most important thing is I get a response from my team.
“We had them watched the other day. Chris O’Grady and Leon Best did very well for us but I am more concerned with what we do than the opposition.
“We need to keep them out of the box. Chris is good at holding the ball up.”
