Josh Windass limped off during the Owls’ impressive 1-0 victory over Derby County, but there was some good news earlier in the week when The Star revealed that his injury was not as bad as first feared.
Though it’s not a serious one, it has now been confirmed by the forward’s dad, Dean Windass, that the Wednesday an faces around 10 days out – suggesting that the away game against Coventry may well come too soon for him.

As quoted by Football Fancast, Windass said, “He pulled his hamstring last week. So I can say it’s a grade one tear. And he’s out for 10 days.
“He’s a bit gutted you know, but there’s been a lot of games and there’s been a lot of injuries in every club. He’s a quick, explosive runner so you’re going to get injuries like that.”
The 26-year-old is among the club’s top scorers this season having bagged four goals in the Championship and Carabao Cup, and his impressive work rate has proved key for the Owls in the games that they’ve been successful.
Neil Thompson, the club’s caretaker manager, may not still be in charge by the time the Coventry game rolls around, but whoever is in charge by that point will be pleased to know that Windass’ knock is not something that will see him sidelined for a long spell.
