ADO Den Haag striker Michiel Kramer has turned down a move to Sheffield Wednesday, according to reports in Holland.
The 26-year-old has been linked with the managerless Championship club, having bagged 17 goals in 32 Dutch top-flight games last season.
After receiving earlier offers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Kazakhstan, Kramer is said to have rejected a contract offer from the Owls last week.
Hakim Slimani, Kramer’s agent, has been quoted as saying: “At the moment there is interest from England, Germany and Spain. It is clear that there is much interest for Kramer, but the market still has to get going.”
The Rotterdam-born player, contracted to Den Haag until 2016, has previously played for NAC Breda and FC Volendam.
Wednesday are keen to strengthen their under-performing forward line. Only the three relegated clubs scored fewer goals than the Owls last season.
Wednesday were recently linked with a move for KRC Genk striker Jelle Vossen, who spent last season on loan at Championship Play-Off finalists Middlesbrough.
