Fletcher leads the way in the scoring charts for the Owls, having found the back of the net 12 times.

His close range strike in Saturday's triumph at Nottingham Forest was his seventh goal in the last six matches.

Midfielder Adam Reach, Fletcher's team-mate, told The Star: "I think the way he is performing he can get 20.

"He has got 12 goals but I know Fletch and he is not going to stop there. We are going to demand more from him as well."

Fletcher, who moved to HIllsborough in the summer of 2016, is arguably in the best form of his career.

"As he has gotten older and matured, I think he has found out how to look after his body," said Reach. "He works extremely hard in the gym on his upper body strength and his core.

"He eats and prepares well for games.

"He is playing well as an individual but I think he is bringing out the best in others, myself included.

"When you see how hard he works on the training ground every day, you want to try and emulate that."

Fletcher and his strike partner Jordan Rhodes put Forest to the sword, scoring four first half goals between them to extend Wednesday's unbeaten league run to five outings.

Reach said: "It is always important to have two or three players at the top of their game.

"A team who has Fletcher and Rhodes scoring goals is a danger for everyone. Fletch has to be looking at 20 goals himself and Jordan can definitely get double figures from now until the end of the season.

"Jordan showed what he could do in the first half by scoring a perfect hat-trick and hopefully that is the start of his season.

"With those two up front scoring goals and the power that we have behind them and off the bench, we can only look up now.

"We are in a good way but we have to concentrate and keep working hard."
