Sheffield Wednesday: Seven things you might not know about Owls new boy Josh Onomah

Sheffield Wednesday today signed Tottenham Hotspur's Josh Onomah on a season-long loan. Here's the run-down on the youngster who has represented England at every age level up to the under-21s.

The Owls now have a World Cup winner in their ranks. Onomah was in the England side that beat Venezuela 1-0 in the final of the U-20s World Cup in 2017.

The 21-year-old has made 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs and a handful of starts in cup competitions.

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Aston Villa where he made 20 starts in the Championship and also featured 13 times off the bench, scoring four goals.

Onomah, who is 6ft 1in tall and likes to get forward, made his Spurs debut in January 2015, replacing Andros Townsend in a 4-2 FA Cup third-round replay win over Burnley at White Hart Lane.

The Enfield-born youngster's top-flight debut came in a 3-1 win over Villa in November 2015 when he came on for Dele Alli.

In the U-20 World Cup he was sent off in the quarter-final against Mexico and missed the semi-final against Italy before returning for the final. 

He was also part of the England set-up that won the 2014  European U-17 Championship, playing the full 90 minutes in the final against the Netherlands.
