Jose Semedo says he wants to spend the rest of his career at Sheffield Wednesday.
The midfielder penned a new one-year contract with the Championship club yesterday, with the option of a further 12 months.
Semedo told The Star he turned down interest from several clubs in his homeland of Portugal, insisting it was always his intention to prolong his career at Hillsborough.
He said: “I’m very happy to have got my future sorted out. It was an emotional and amazing day joining in pre-season training again with the rest of the guys.
“I had a lot of offers in Portugal but I always wanted to sign for this club.
“I love everybody here and want to finish my career at the club. This is what I wish. I feel happy at home and it is just the same with Sheffield Wednesday. The supporters here are very special.
“If I stay here until the end of my career, I will be a very happy person.”
