Sheffield Wednesday rumours: Key man tipped to leave on big money deal, Millwall in three-way tussle for full-back

Sheffield Wednesday are continuing to plan their major squad overhaul ahead of the summer transfer window opening next month, as Darren Moore eye new signings to strengthen his side ahead of next season.

The Owls finished the season down in rock bottom of the table, and will be looking for a much improved 2021/22 campaign when they look to escape League One.

Speaking earlier in the week, Moore gave an insight into the plans for the summer months, and revealed: “When I look at it now, it’s just over six weeks until the boys are due back in for preseason. so we have to get a lot of things in place for when they do come back.

“Things have been finalised, and probably the next time I come to address the fans I can be more clear and concise in terms ofwhere we’re going and the games.

“There are teams, the games (friendlies) are there, and we have a schedule and structure for the preseason. I’ve just got to pen them in really.”

Meanwhile, the club announced their retained list yesterday afternoon, and confirmed the departure of a number of long-standing Owls players such as record signing Jordan Rhodes, ex-Republic of Ireland international Keiren Westwood, and Tom Lees, who joined Wednesday from Leeds United back in 2014.

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Sheffield Wednesday and the rest of the Championship, as the reaction to last season and the build-up to summer transfer window continues:

“Things have been finalised, and probably the next time I come to address the fans I can be more clear and concise in terms ofwhere we’re going and the games.
