Star man Barry Bannan has committed his long-term future to Sheffield Wednesday, signing a contract extension until the summer of 2021.
The influential midfielder, who was due to become a free agent next year, has established himself as a firm fans’ favourite at Hillsborough since joining the club from Crystal Palace three years ago.
Bannan played an integral role in the Owls side who reached back-to-back play-offs. His flair and creativity was pivotal in Wednesday finishing sixth and fourth.
The Scotland international has clocked up 124 appearances in Owls colours, although he missed a big chunk of last season through injury.
Bannan has kicked off in fine form this term, scoring a stunning goal in Wednesday's home victory over Millwall.
Bannan follows in the footsteps of striker Lucas Joao, who agreed a new deal last week.
