Preston North End defender captured on video grabbing Sheffield Wednesday striker Callum Paterson's genitals
Sheffield Wednesday’s Callum Paterson was at the centre of a bizarre incident during today’s defeat at Preston North End – with footage emerging of him having his genitals grabbed by the home side’s Darnell Fisher.
It’s not on, really...
Up in flames...
Tony Pulis was asked about the incident involving Wednesday’s Callum Paterson and Darnell Fisher, but admitted he hadn’t seen what happened.
He told The Star: "You’re the first one who’s said that to me… I haven’t seen it, but if that’s the case then that’s the case.
"I’m sure with everybody on social media and all the places that people look now, he’ll be up in flames now if he’s done that."
What’s going on here?!
Wednesday fans have their say on Preston defeat
'Pulis has got a big job on his hands' . . . 'Welcome to S6 Tony' - Sheffield Wednesday fans' verdict on 1-0 defeat at Preston North End
The Tony Pulis era at Sheffield Wednesday got off to the worst possible start this afternoon as he saw his 10-man Owls side slip to a 1-0 defeat against Preston North End at Deepdale.
Joe’s delivered his ratings . . .
Preston North End had lost every single game they’d played at Deepdale until today...
Pulis on formation
We started 4-3-3 really… We’ve worked hard on that, but after 15 minutes it all went out of the window, which is a shame really.
Bad news on Marriott
Jack’s back at Derby, we think it’s long term… I think it’s his calf, but whatever it is we don’t see him for six or seven weeks.
With it being muscular, we didn’t want to take that chance. I thought he did smashing though.
Pulis on staff
Gards is infective, he’s a good coach and I like to try and bring a young coach in with me.
David Kemp, my usual assistant, couldn’t come because of an illness to his mother. Mike Trusson brings a lot of experience, not just as a coach but also with his recruitment. I hope he’ll help us in the years to come.
Pulis on the recent reds cards
We don’t want to keep getting red cards, especially not in the situation we’re in. I think Josh could have headed it, I don’t think he had to take that chance. He said he was trying to flick it to Reachy, but there’s no doubt that he’s caught the player.
Red cards are not what we need, and the three games that Josh will miss is another stick that’ll hit us that we don’t need.
Pulis on injuries
Dom is injured, Harris is suspended. Windass is now out. It’s tough right now to pick a team that is really as good as we can get.
Pulis on Westwood’s punch
He says his back foot has slipped and that’s why he’s punched. It’s his mistake, and he’s big enough to take that.
There were some challenges before that though, that I was disappointed with. They’re challenges that I want them to be winning.
Pulis on strikers
We missed Harris today, he’ll give us pace and quality… But yeah, that’s one area we need to address. Everybody I speak to, everyone I engage with has mentioned that area.
I think the fans understand that, and if you look at the stats then we need to be scoring more.
