The Owls claimed their first point in a determined goalless draw at Leeds United last time out and have enjoyed a fortnight of training Middlewood Road - though four senior players were absent on international duty.
Questions are there as to whether those players will feature this weekend - Devis Vasquez, Juan Delgado and Di’Shon Bernard travelled back from the Americas and had not trained with the club as of Thursday.
And it will be interesting to see whether new boys John Buckley and Jeff Hendrick are thrown straight in - Hendrick himself missed the bulk of the break having reported for duty with the Republic of Ireland.
With an eye on continuity, we’ve had a red hot crack at selecting the team that could line up against the Tractor Boys.
5. RWB - Callum Paterson
Another fortnight on the training ground will bring Liam Palmer right back into contention, no doubt. The wing choice will be interesting. Paterson has been among the best performers this season and should feature. | Getty Images
6. CM - George Byers
A fan favourite and such a tidy player. Often quietly goes about his business in ticking things over - when he’s alive he can steal the show. | Steve Ellis
7. CM - Barry Bannan
The main man. Barring something unforeseen, he starts. Has been at the heart of so much of the good things that have happened for the Owls this season. Photo: George Wood
8. LWB - Juan Delgado
Quietly consistent in his output this season, Delgado is one of the new faces to have settled in nicely at S6. He’s done some miles and played twice from the bench in the international break for Chile. The truth is, there aren’t many other obvious options in that position. Photo: Steve Ellis Steve Ellis
