The 1-0 win was far from a classic at Hillsborough, but who stood out as a key man in the win? Let’s take a look at the player ratings.
5. Morgan Fox - 8
Followed up his faultless display at Cardiff with another one here. Produced some brilliant balls to release Harris in the first half and blocked well from Allen late on. | JPIMedia Photo: Steve Ellis
6. Sam Hutchinson - 6
Shielded the defence manfully again, but broke up Wednesday momentum a little too often with misplaced passes. Got away with one mistimed tackle early that cost Luongo his yellow in the first half. Got one himself late on. | JPIMedia Photo: Steve Ellis
7. Barry Bannan - 7
Showed more energy than he has in his last couple of outings, ferrying to close down Stoke defenders and creating space with his movement. Classy on the ball as ever. | JPIMedia Photo: Steve Ellis
8. Massimo Luongo - 8
Showed bags of energy. Connected the attacks nicely and made some tasty runs into the box. Took his goal nicely - his second in as many games at Hillsborough - those might become more important as the season goes on. | JPIMedia Photo: Nick Potts
