With Barry Bannan at the heart of things, battling away in what barring something mad popping off will be his final of 477 appearances in a Sheffield Wednesday shirt, Sheffield Wednesday fell to a 2-0 defeat at Bristol City. It followed the script; nuggety and competitive, in need of good saves, ultimately out of puff after the hour. And defeat.
The Owls are now seven without a goal and 22 without a win. It’s grim out here.
Suitable Bannan reaction will come. For now, have our player ratings from a match that wasn’t about the match.

On for the last 20. A return from injury is positive - he marshals things well back there and Wednesday are better for it. | UGC

On in the final minutes for his second short outing as he continues to be integrated into the set-up. | UGC
