A late concession took two points and some shine from Sheffield Wednesday’s effort at St Andrews on Tuesday evening, but that doesn’t tell half the story of an effort of monstrous proportions in which Jamal Lowe and George Brown grabbed the goals.
A rapid turnaround for the smallest and most unpaid squad in the division would have offered plenty of excuses - the sort of which they have been handed all season by off-field nonsense. But once again the Owls refused to take it, scrapping and harrying their way through tough periods of the match and fighting from behind to poke their noses in front.
Any analysis of the final minutes is clearly dominated by the late equaliser. But to watch a group of footballers cramping and scrambling their way through was a display of the character they have to burn. All this having yet again not having been paid. A fine, fine effort - and some high numbers to suit.

9. Svante Ingelsson - 8
Utterly tireless once again. Instrumental in Wednesday's initial bright start and poked the ball forward to influence the equaliser. Caused problems when breaking out onto the left. Disrupted things. | UGC

10. Jamal Lowe - 7
Sleek and streamlined, J-Lowe took his big chance with calm efficiency - even if it took a slap on the glove from Allsop on the way in. Disrupted up top early doors. Shook the hand of just about every human in the vicinity on his way off as Wednesday looked to slow things down - tremendous housery. | UGC

11. Bailey Cadamarteri - 8
Solid work off the ball, grinding and pressuring the Brum defence. Interception late on important and an example of his growth. Gritty and gnarly in his approach. | UGC

12. George Brown - 8
On for goalscorer Lowe with just over 20 minutes to go. Got a game to win? Get Brown on it. Did wonderfully to sneak in at the back post and finish past Allsop. Bloody lovely moment, that. | UGC
