And give or take a few hours, that’s how long Sheffield Wednesday and the rest of the EFL have to finalise their business and complete their squad lists before the window closes and the noise stops at 11pm on September 1.

The Owls have attracted plaudits for their business in the window so far, ending the longest-running saga of their summer by bringing in Mallik Wilks from Hull City, a versatile livewire attacker that has been on Darren Moore’s radar even before the manager had arrived at S6.

Wednesday’s midweek escapades have shone a light on the strength in depth the squad now has even without the likes of new boys Akin Famewo, Michael Smith and Reece James, the former pair injured and the latter suspended.

But what next for the Owls after 10 new faces were brought in?

“At the moment, it is about the team settling down and the window closing and us getting on with it,” Moore said.

“Hopefully we don't get anymore injuries where we feel at the 11th hour we have to jump in at the 11th hour for a replacement.

“I am pleased with Mallik as that was a long drawn out one. We want to blow off the cob webs and get him going.”

One areas the club have been searching for answers is in the goalkeeping department.

Pierce Charles and Jack Hall have been identified as star men when it comes to the club’s junior ranks but both are young and developing.

It is felt that Wednesday could do with further back-up, but the club won’t be panicked.

“It's a possibility,” Moore told The Star. “That's an area we may look at because with Stocky and Daws, there's just the two of them.

“If anything happens to one or two of them we're still short. That's maybe a market where we're looking in terms of a place to strengthen.”

Moore has maintained since the club’s early summer success in the transfer market that if the right opportunities become available, Wednesday are in a position to make deals happen.

Asked whether the club is definitely spent-up having secured the signature of Wilks for an undisclosed fee and whether the loan market will be an area most likely to be looked at, Moore said: “You can never say never on both fronts.

“We're in a position where we did our work really early and as we've been going along, it's been great to be able to pick up acquisitions we have. But that's all testament to the work we'd done early.

“For us to be in this position with the window still open for a week or so, looking at the balance of the squad and how much better it looks now, we're in a good position.

“In terms of signing anything permanent or anything on loan, on both fronts, something would have to become available I feel would have to be of benefit to us going forward. We'll wait and see. If not, we'll let the window shut and get on with what we need to get on with.”
