Owls midfielder Paul Corry has joined Carlisle United on a month-long loan deal.

The 24-year-old has featured just once for Wednesday this season, coming off the bench against Notts County in the Capital One Cup, and has made just eight further appearances as an unused substitute.

Corry will be at Brunton Park until April 11.

Cumbrians boss Keith Curle said: “He’s technically and tactically a good footballer. He’s got good pedigree and a desire to play games.

“He’s naturally gifted and he’s got an eye for a ball, and he can open teams up with his range of passing.

“He’s got good energy levels and enthusiasm and he’s got a willingness and bravery to get on the ball and get us playing.

“We’ve spoken to him and his level of commitment has come across because he just wants to be playing games.

“It’s a crucial time for him because he isn’t 19 or 20, he’s a 24 year old, but he’s been at a Championship club without playing the number of games he would have liked.

“He needs to create a personality and identity for himself so it’s a win-win situation.

“We’re lucky to have a player of his ability coming to the club and he’s got a good opportunity to showcase what he can do.”

Corry joined the Owls in August 2012 and has made ten senior appearances for the club.
