Sheffield Wednesday pair Callum Paterson and Tony Pulis break silence on Darnell Fisher 'genital grab' incident

The Sheffield Wednesday man looked perplexed by the defender’s actions, which took place during Preston’s 1-0 win over the Owls at Deepdale last Saturday, which referee David Webb missed.
The video sparked a furious response from supporters on social media and Fisher was retrospectively charged by the FA, who confirmed this afternoon that he was to be banned for three matches

Hide AdAsked to comment on what happened, Paterson said: “There’s a video up. It’s not for me to comment on and it’s being dealt with hopefully off the park so I haven’t got too much to say on the matter. It’s in the past and I’m moving on from it.
“I’ve experienced a lot of things on the park. Things happen on and off the park all the time for me but as I see it, it’s in the past so I don’t want to comment too much on it, I’ll put it to bed.”
His manager Tony Pulis correctly predicted after the Preston clash that Fisher’s actions would put him ‘in flames’ once picked up on social media.
Asked about his reaction six days on and in the build-up to Wednesday’s clash with Stoke this weekend, Pulis too largely decided to keep his counsel, though he did describe the grab as ‘ridiculous’ and said there was no place for it in the sport.
“I don't really want to get involved in that,” Pulis said.

Hide Ad“I think what the lad did was ridiculous really. Did he do it for Callum to react and try and get the kid sent off? That’s the only reason I can think why he did it.
“But it is ridiculous and something that should not happen in professional sport and fingers crossed we won’t see it again.
“I think Callum's reaction was absolutely fabulous by not reacting back to the lad.”
Blackburn Rovers’ German midfielder Lewis Holtby was seen mocking Fisher in midweek by shielding his privates as the Preston man walked past during a 3-0 Rovers win.
