Sheffield Wednesday will step up their pre-season work by taking on one of Portugal’s leading clubs after finalising the second fixture of their trip out there next month.
They will play Sporting Braga who finished fourth in Primeira Liga, thus qualifying for the Europa League - they reached the final in 2011 losing to compatriots Porto.
The Owls are in Portugal for a week and the Braga fixture, the first of two, is on Tuesday, July 16, quite probably at 8pm. It will be played in Albufeira with the stadium yet to be decided.
Wednesday will also play Premier League newcomers Hull City out there and this will be on Saturday, July 20.
That is also in Albufeira and booked for the Estadio Municipal.
Wednesday also went to Portugal at the same time last year returning with more than extra fitness and a top up to their tan.
Reading were there at the same time and Michail Antonio was in their party - and actually played against Wednesday in the clubs’ friendly.
After his successful loan spell at Wednesday, he was their major target last Summer and talks between the clubs in Portugal eventually led to the winger joining the Owls in a deal reported to be around £750,000.
