Stuart Gray, the Sheffield Wednesday boss, has confirmed Kieran Lee will miss tomorrow’s clash with in-form Millwall at Hillsborough.

The midfielder was taken off in the first half of Saturday’s goalless draw against Derby County due to an on-going groin problem.

Kieran Lee came off against Derby because of an injury.

Gray is praying the injury will not keep Lee out of action for too long.

He said: “Kieran has gone off for a scan. We will have to wait for the results.

“He’s got a bit of an ongoing groin problem. Fingers crossed the scan results will be good news.”

The Owls chief refused to put a timescale on when Lee will next be available for selection.

“You can’t jump to conclusions with scans,” he said. “They grade them one, two and three.

“I think Jeremy [Helan] was a one but suddenly he came back a lot quicker than what they predicted. I don’t want to jump to any conclusions at the moment.”

Wednesday go into their meeting with the Lions aiming to stretch their unbeaten run to four matches.

Gray, who has ruled out terminating Dejan Kelhar’s short-term contract despite the centre-half recently picking up a serious knee injury, said: “Everybody is buoyant and upbeat. We are looking forward to the game.

“They [Millwall] have started well and so have we. Playing well breeds confidence and I’ve got the right personalities in the dressing room.”
