SHEFFIELD Wednesday today confirmed the loan signing of Everton midfield player Ross Barkley.
The deal is for a month and comes as no surprise after the Owls had been linked with the 18-year-old for weeks.
Barkley was signed in time to be eligible for tonight’s game at Brighton and is likely to be involved in some way, perhaps on the bench.
The midfielder has established a reputation as an outstanding young talent and is under contract at Goodison Park for another four years.
Owls boss Dave Jones said: “We have been chasing Ross for some time and I’m really pleased to have him on board.
“This is as big as the Rodri signing for me, because this lad is a real quality player.
“He’s energetic, good in the air and a box-to-box player who can score a goal.”
