Sheffield Wednesday have announced the signing of Crystal Palace full back Jack Hunt on a season long loan.

A deal with Palace and Hunt was agreed yesterday with the 24-year-old arriving in Sheffield to take part in a medical.

A photograph of Hunt in an Owls shirt circulated on social media last night before both clubs confirmed the deal.

Hunt made 35 appearances last season during loan spells with Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United.

The former Huddersfield Town trainee has also had loan spells with Chesterfield and Barnsley.

With Hunt’s arrival, the Owls are well stocked with right back cover, suggesting Liam Palmer could revert back to a midfield role.

Marnick Vermijl made 11 starts at right back after arriving in February while new signing Vincent Sasso can also fill in the role.

Dutch midfielder Demy de Zeeuw has been training with the Owls since they returned for pre-season on Wednesday.
