Sheffield Wednesday have swooped to sign Rodri on a season long-loan deal from Barcelona B, subject to international clearance, writes Dom Howson.
The striker, who has been allocated squad number 15, could make his Owls debut against Birmingham City tomorrow night.
Aged 22, Rodri began his career with Sevilla FC, where he helped the youth team win the Copa del Rey, defeating Athletic Bilbao in the final.
Rodri - full name Rodrigo Ríos Lozano - has also twice represented the Spanish Under-21s on the international stage, claiming one goal along the way.
He said: “I am very happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started.
“I was at the game on Saturday and I though the team did very well in the second half, the fans on a scale of 0-10 were definitely a 10. It was a massive crowd that came from Sheffield.
“That was an away game for the club so I can’t wait to see them in a home game.”
