Oguchi Onyewu and Caolan Lavery both played full games for their countries in 2-0 defeats last night.
Onyewu was in action for the USA against Ukraine in Cyprus, Lavery for Northern Ireland Under 21s against Italy in Lurgan.
It was Onyewu’s first international appearance since he captained the side to a 4-1 win against Cuba last July.
The game against Ukraine was a friendly and part of the USA’s preparation for the World Cup finals.
Lavery figured once again in a UEFA Championship qualifier against Italy, who also won the home game against Northern Ireland 2-0.
