Lee Bullen is unsure where his future lies following Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov’s takeover of Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls coach is happy Mammadov, founder and chairman of the Baghlan Group, which specialises in oil, gas, construction and transportation, bought the Championship club on Tuesday. The buy-out, a reported £40m deal, is expected to be shortly ratified by the Football League and a press conference will soon follow to unveil Mammadov.

But Bullen, who is in charge of the development squad and also works closely with the first-team, is waiting to learn, along with head coach Stuart Gray, whether he is part of Mammadov’s long-term plans.

He said: “There’s a certain amount of trepidation because when a new owner comes in you never know what’s going to happen until he has spoken to everybody.

“I’ve learned such a lot with Stuart [Gray] during our seven or eight months working together. He shows a lot of respect to the people he works with. But we all know that until discussions have taken place certain things will remain unclear.”
