Danny Röhl has plenty of work to do as he looks to prepare his Owls side for another run at the Championship that hopefully doesn’t end with a relegation battle, and in order to do that they’re going to need to get some new players through the door - as well as agree terms with some of those currently on their books.
A whole host of contracts will expire at the end of June, and while the decision has been made to offer new deals to seven players, six of them - including George Byers, Lee Gregory and Reece James - will definitely be moving on.
Barry Bannan, Cameron Dawson, Di’Shon Bernard, Dominic Iorfa, Liam Palmer, Will Vaulks and Josh Windass have all been offered the option to stay at Hillsborough for next season, but until things are finalised the Owls have just 12 senior players on their books - and one of them has only made a couple of first team appearances.
Here’s how Wednesday’s squad for the upcoming campaign looks as things stand:
1. Pierce Charles
He's currently the only goalkeeper with senior minutes under his belt at the football club contracted for next season - Jack Hall, another teenager, has been offered a new deal this summer. | Steve Ellis

2. Akin Famewo

3. Bambo Diaby
Has spoken about how eager he was to help make sure Wednesday stayed in the Championship, and of course a big part of that was because he's still going to be here in 2024/25. | Steve Ellis

4. Michael Ihiekwe
Ihiekwe signed a long-term deal with the Owls when he joined the club from Rotherham, and has one season left on his current contract. | Steve Ellis
