Are Wednesday youngsters ready?

Some thoughts from Monk on Wednesday’s academy graduates:

Sky Sports’ David Prutton is going for a 1-1 between Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City this weekend…

“Swansea have some terrifically talented young players in their side and will push right to the end to try and reach the top six. You can be sure of that.

"Sheffield Wednesday were OK against West Brom on Wednesday night, but for the first time since the restart really did look a team in mid-table with not a lot left to play for. I do, however, fancy them to bounce back and get a draw on Sunday.”

Lewis Farmer on signing his first pro deal at SWFC…

“I felt at home from day one..."

Joost van Aken has spoken of his departure from Germany as he prepares to return to Sheffield Wednesday.

He's getting closer to first start. He's further down the line than the others. From first coming in and seeing how he's grown as a footballer and a person, he holds his own.

He's a big part of the future. If I can start him I will start him, but I pick the team that is the best to win the game. You know what I think of Alex, it's exciting.
