Can Callum Paterson make his Sheffield Wednesday debut this weekend? - Monk answers

Sheffield Wednesday wrapped up a move for a new striker, Callum Paterson, over the weekend, but will he be able to make his debut against Queens Park Rangers?

I’ve not been told anything from the club in terms of interest from our players. I assume there’s nothing to deal with on that front.

Westwood is training with the u23s, getting hit fitness and trying to get himself out on loan or to another club.

I’m hopeful for him and for us as a club. That’s all in the hands of the club and my focus is on the games. We’ve got an important game this weekend and that’s all I’m dealing with.

How long tracking Paterson?

He’s been on our radar since the summer. We’re delighted to get him over the line.

It’s a good bit of business from the club. It’s not just the player and the here and now, he’s a good age, an international, he’s hungry. He’ll add to everything we’ve done.

There’s no guarantees on any player you bring to a football club but the tick boxes are important. That’s what we’ve tried to do with the players we’ve brought in.

Over 20 metres I’d fancy Kadeem, in 100m I’d go Dom. It’s those long strides.

Kads is a little powerhouse over 20m, but I think Dom would take it over 100m.

We want to be aggressive… I didn’t feel we had enough of that last season.
