Sheffield Wednesday delivered their long-suffering fans an early Christmas present when they won their first game since early November after beating Coventry City at Hillsborough on Saturday.

The win was also boss Tony Pulis’ first since taking over from Garry Monk last month.

It means the Owls head into the Boxing Day clash at Blackburn Rovers four points shy of safety and finally off the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship table.
