Last updated: Thursday, 09 July, 2020, 18:22

  • The Owls lost again last night with Preston winning 3-1 at Hillsborough
  • That was the third defeat in a row
  • Connor Wickham and Kieran Lee were left out as a precaution but should be for the weekend
  • Wednesday travel to QPR on Saturday
  • What’s the consensus on Garry Monk’s future?

An update from the SWFC Trust

QPR blow, Owls boost?

QPR top scorer, Jordan Hugill, and Lee Wallace could miss out v Wednesday this weekend.

As quoted by West London Sport, Mark Warburton said, “It’s going to be tight. Hopefully he might make it. We’ll have to see how he responds in the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, on Wallace (hamstring) he said, “He’ll probably train with us, maybe on Friday.

“It might be too soon for Sheffield Wednesday, but hopefully after that he’ll be available to us.”

How many are needed?

Over the past five Championship seasons, no team with over 51 points has been relegated, with the number needed to stay up ranging from 43 to 51.

Wednesday have 52 with 12 points left to play for, but the EFL case and possible points deduction.

Now it’s not so much about how many they get, but how many they might lose.
